With all the to-do about the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge’s first official visit to Canada, much has been made of the fashions that Kate has donned on the tour.

But did any of you notice the most important fashion statement made by the couple in Prince Edward Island on Monday?  The media may have missed it, but here at Safe Kids Canada we were ecstatic to see that both Will & Kate were wearing their inflatable PFDs while dragon boat racing (see photos 10 & 11 in the series). 

So the next time you go boating, remember: even the royals buckle-up their lifejackets when they head out for some fun on the water – even for a short race. It’s a fashion statement every boater should imitate!
