Safety information

Girl walking along sidewalk while holding parents handsParents and caregivers can have a very positive influence on their children’s safety and wellbeing and Safe Kids Canada is here to help. Despite the fact that injuries are the leading cause of death for Canadian children, many Canadians still believe that “accidents” are a natural part of life. Certainly bumps and bruises are a normal part of childhood, but most severe incidents that result in serious injury or death can be predicted and prevented. Small but important steps, like locking up medications, using an appropriate car seat for every ride your child takes, and keeping young children close by, will help to prevent injury.

Help us in our efforts to protect Canadian children from serious injury and death. We invite you to look at our topic areas and learn how simple measures can greatly reduce the risk of injury for the young children in your life.
