Rail safety

Sponsored by

CN

In 2010, there were 261 railway grade crossing and trespassing incidents that resulted in 62 serious injuries and 81 fatalities in Canada. The majority of these could have been prevented. Those working with children can help reduce the risk of injury by providing consistent safety messages throughout a child's life.

Safe Kids Canada and CN offer a comprehensive, easy to use, national rail safety education program. Developed with key partners, the activity plans connect rail safety to language, science, social sciences, health and physical education for children age five to 12.
